All of these things are prevention measures to keep high blood pressure from showing up in the first place.

There are genetic factors too. That just means that it runs in your family. You can get high blood pressure even though you eat right, get plenty of exercise and don't feel stressed at all. Check to see if this is a problem that runs through your family tree. If it does indeed run in your family, you should get regular checkups and maybe even buy a "blood pressure cuff" to monitor your blood pressure so that you can make sure your it's within the correct levels before a problem arises.

Find out how your blood pressure measures up by scheduling a checkup with your doctor. This is a good idea, even if you feel healthy. After all, they don't call it the "silent killer" for nothing. If you get regular checkups and try to live as healthy as you can you will be doing your best to ensure that your blood pressure will never get to unmanageable levels. take note , however, that just because your levels may be high, it does not necessarily mean that it's a death sentence. It means you have to be more careful about your lifestyle choices and find the medications needed to keep it under control.
